Linde is currently seeking a Spec Gas Cylinder Handler to join the team in the Whitby, Ontario area.

 

 

Purpose of the Position:

 

To handle cylinders throughout the Specialty Gas plant and perform tasks such as: cylinder valving, devalving and general preparation. The incumbent is also required to load and unload cylinders, move them in the plant and yard, paint them, and take care of shipping.

Responsibilities

  • Cylinder venting, valving and devalving 
  • Cylinder preparation as required by production orders and plant needs 
  • Cylinder empty Kanban organization, and maintain minimum inventory levels 
  • Cylinder label scraping, painting, labelling and shipping 
  • Cylinder unloading and sorting into the empty Kanbans 
  • Cylinder loading for shipping and yard storage
  • Yard organization and maintenance of cylinder inventories
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to Company’s SHEQ program
  • Support management on any projects or processes needing assistance or improvement

Qualifications

Basic:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2 Years Cylinder

 

Other:

  • Cooperation - with plant employees and with management to help meet the plant goals
  • Collaboration with others
  • Good communicator – to others within the plant and management
  • Customer focus – in particular DIFOT.
  • Work Ethic – Positive productivity.
  • Basic computer skills necessary
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Demonstrated team player
  • Fluent in English
